These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BetterAttachment (“the Service”), operated by BetterAttachment, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description

BetterAttachment is a journaling platform that uses artificial intelligence to help you understand your attachment style and relationship patterns. The Service includes voice journaling, document and scan uploads, AI-powered analysis, progress tracking, and optional social features.

The Service is designed for self-reflection and personal growth. It is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.

3. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of all journal entries, recordings, and documents you submit to the Service (“User Content”). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and analyze your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

AI-Generated Content

Insights, scores, and feedback generated by our AI are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors and should not be treated as professional advice.

Shared Content

If you choose to share journal entries or insights through the social features, you are responsible for what you share. Shared content may be visible to friends or other users as configured in your settings.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

  • The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers (Starter and Pro).
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are shown in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact support for refund requests.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that is harmful, abusive, or violates others' rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to harass, bully, or send unwanted messages to other users

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. AI-generated attachment scores and insights are approximations and should not be used as diagnostic tools.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • - Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • - Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or your data
  • - Any errors or omissions in AI-generated content
  • - Any third-party content or conduct on the Service

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
